Assistant Professor of English (Asian American Literature)
The English Department at Pomona College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to begin Fall 2025. At a moment when the department is in conversation about diversifying the major as well as building on its current strengths, we seek a colleague whose research focuses on Asian American literature writ large (East, West, South, and/or Southeast Asian circulations), and we are open to various areas of expertise. Transnational, hemispheric, and/or comparative approaches welcome. Areas of interest may include but are not limited to: decolonial solidarity frameworks, critical refugee studies, migration and political economy, gender and sexuality, memory, performance, aesthetics, global Asias, inter-archipelagic connections, and considerations of the more-than-human. The teaching load at Pomona College is two courses per semester. Assistant/Associate Professor of Religious Studies (Islamic Studies)
The Department of Religious Studies at Pomona College invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor in Islamic Studies. The successful candidate will teach a regular slate of courses on subjects such as Islamic text, philosophy, mysticism, practice, culture, or law; will be able to contextualize the study of Islam within the field of Religious Studies understood broadly; and will have expertise in Islam in Asia or Africa. In addition, the candidate might suggest courses that could be cross-listed in other departments; inter-disciplinary interests could include gender/women/sexuality, the environment, linguistics, material culture and artistic expression, scientific thought, political movements, economics, etc.

Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Coach of Men’s Soccer
Pomona College: The Department of Physical Education is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Coach of Men’s Soccer for the Pomona-Pitzer athletic program. At Pomona, physical education professors are full members of the faculty. In this capacity, they teach courses, advise students, and play an integral role in committee service and faculty governance.
Responsibilities include managing all aspects of Pomona-Pitzer's competitive NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer program, teaching activity classes in the physical education program and managing administrative duties essential for the proper functioning of the Physical Education and Athletic programs. Two-year Rand Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asian Studies
The Asian Studies Program at Pomona College seeks applications for the Rand Postdoctoral Fellowship, a two-year position, that will begin July 1, 2025.
This teaching fellowship is open to scholars whose work engages pre-modern China in ways that will generate innovative approaches to the research and teaching of Asia. The candidate should have their Ph.D. degree no earlier than 2020. We welcome research grounded in cross-disciplinary perspectives and teaching that links China with other geographical region(s).
During the first year of the fellowship, the teaching load is two classes, one each semester. The fellow will teach three classes during the second year. The fellow will have access to a research stipend and college funding opportunities for conference travel and teaching/research expenses. The compensation for the fellowship will be: AY25-26, $65,000; AY25-26, $68,000.
